Incorporated on January 10, 2023, our company is dedicated to promoting the rich handicraft heritage of the region while supporting sustainable livelihoods for local artisans.We specialize in embroidery and crocheted goods, crafted by skilled ST category artisans from District Ganderbal. Our initiatives are funded and supported by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, providing artisans with training, resources, and opportunities to preserve traditional skills while expanding their reach.Each creation reflects the passion, skill, and cultural legacy of J&K artisans, blending timeless techniques with contemporary designs. Founded in January 2023, the company provides a structured platform for ST category artisans of District Ganderbal specializing in embroidery and crocheted goods.Recognizing the challenges artisans face in reaching broader markets, our founders envisioned a company that combines traditional craftsmanship with sustainable economic opportunities. With the support and funding of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Shahbi Handicrafts helps artisans access resources, training, and recognition, ensuring their skills thrive for generations to come.Our story is one of heritage, empowerment, and community—transforming passion into opportunity while celebrating the timeless beauty of J&K handicrafts.

Objectives of the Company

The following objectives define the lawful scope of operations, governance framework, and developmental mandate of Shah Bi Handicrafts, focusing on handicrafts, artisan empowerment, and rural economic development.

A) Principal Objectives

Core Business & Craft Development Objectives

  • To manufacture, produce, process, lease, rent, and sell handicrafts, and allied artisan-based products for the economic benefit and welfare of its members.
  • To establish, operate, and manage emporiums, showrooms, and art galleries for the exhibition and sale of handicrafts, rural products, village industries, Khadi, and cottage industry goods.
  • To provide structured training, technical guidance, capacity building, and expert advisory services in handicrafts, and allied rural industries, including the provision of awards, scholarships, and recognition programs.
  • To function as a knowledge and advisory entity by disseminating updated information regarding Government of India policies, regulatory frameworks, production methodologies, and market trends relating to handicrafts, and textile sectors.
  • To encourage mutual cooperation, collective growth, and shared economic development among members engaged in craft and allied activities.
B) Ancillary & Incidental Objectives

Supportive, Financial & Developmental Functions

  • To enter into partnerships, collaborations, joint ventures, and agreements with companies, institutions, or organizations for mutual growth and advancement of the company’s objectives.
  • To acquire, purchase, lease, or otherwise obtain movable or immovable properties, assets, rights, or businesses necessary for operational and developmental purposes.
  • To establish research centres, laboratories, workshops, and training institutes for scientific, technical, and industrial research in handicrafts, textiles, and allied fields, including support for seminars, publications, and academic initiatives.
  • To issue, subscribe, hold, or manage shares, securities, bonds, and financial instruments, and to undertake financial arrangements including brokerage, commission, and investment activities.
